You will find as you look back upon your life that the moments when you have truly lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love. - Henry Drummond

We made it through April, May here we come!

Johnny and I had a great weekend this past weekend. The Burris' where in town for a conference and we had a really good time visiting with them. April was particularly busy for Johnny and I but May looks like it may have April beat. We will be heading to Baton Rouge for the weekend on Friday. On Saturday morning we will be looking around Baton Rouge to get a feel of where we should be looking for a place to live and to get a general idea of the area. Also on Saturday night we will be going to a party for Johnny's cousin Jessica and her fiancee'. On Sunday we will be going to Franklinton for a bridal shower for Lacy, our future sister-in-law. Then on Sunday we will head back up to Ruston to get ready for the week.

Also, Maggie has learned a new trick. She has figured out that if she breaks up her bathroom break into parts, she gets a treat for each part! I figured out that she was doing this after about the third time she had to use the bathroom after just a few minutes. I tell you, she is a smart dog! Anyways, she is getting bigger every day and of course more spoiled as she gets older. Speaking of, I am about to go home and take her for a walk before our couple's bible study tonight.

This has been a particularly long week for Johnny and I. I hope we get sometime to relax a little tomorrow before the big weekend. I hope everyone has a great weekend too. We will talk with you soon. Oh, real quick, last night I ran 2 miles with Johnny. I was so proud of myself. I wasn't even sore today, although I hasitate to say that, he may make it longer next time! :)

Last Garden Show! Yes.....

This weekend Johnny and I traveled to DeWitt, AR to our last garden show. I couldn't be more thrilled. Finally, no more weekends taken up by work!

We left Friday evening and arrived at our hotel after about five hours and a good meal at Red Lobster. I had the stuffed flounder and Johnny had fish and chips. Really good meal considering we were surrounded by rice fields.

We had to stay 40 minutes north of DeWitt in Stuggart because DeWitt didn't even have a hotel! Of course we had to get up even earlier to get to DeWitt in time to setup before the show. It wasn't looking like a good day after we were rushed for setup time because the hotel clerk forgot to enter our wakeup call and the fact that no one was at the show and we were both tired. However, Johnny saved the day. He went out to the car and took about an hour nap and then came back and kept me entertained by talking to me and well mostly picking on me. Funny how sometimes that can make my day :)

The show was horrible, total of 5 subs and about $60 bucks in book sales. Usually sales for one hour, not one day. Regardless, Johnny and I had a good time. He made me laugh almost all day. Our driving time wasn't bad either, we finally had some time to catch up with each other! Not to mention that we were able to come home on Saturday night instead of on Sunday so it sorta felt like we had a weekend. When we came home, we went to the store, ate dinner, and went to bed early.

Today we got up and went to church and afterwards we went to Tia Maria's and ate the best queso around and some incredible enchiladas. I had a baby shower to go to at 2 and Johnny went for a run. We played around the house, grilled for supper and I made another baby shower gift for a baby shower luncheon on Tuesday. And I got to post on here!

All in all we had a great weekend, thanks to my sweetheart! I hope everyone else has a good week.

Baton Rouge Here We Come

Hey Everyone,

Sorry it's been a while since I posted. We have been really busy this last week.

To catch everyone up that hasn't heard, Johnny and I got the greatest news on Friday. We are moving to Baton Rouge this summer. Probably around the beginning of August. Johnny was accepted into LSU's computer science PHD program with all tuition paid and an assistantship. We are ecstatic with the news. We finally get to move closer to home and be by family.

I am going to start working on my resume and looking for a job very soon. Actually I have been working on my resume this weekend, but I am going to get some people to review it before I start sending it out. Johnny and I are also thinking about trying to buy a house around Baton Rouge instead of finding another apartment. This is also very exciting to me! Anyways, we will keep everyone updated as we move along. If anyone has any comments or suggestions in either of these matters, please feel free to comment.
