Mardi Gras
Today was Mardi Gras and you wouldn't have known it if you were in Ruston. Of course, growing up in South Louisiana, I know that today is Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday as some people refer to it.
I was a little sad today when I was sitting at work and my family called to wish me a happy Mardi Gras while they were out enjoying festivities or just relaxing at home. I just wanted to say that I know what Mardi Gras is suppose to be like, visiting with family and friends enjoying the day.
Even though we live in Louisiana, north and south Louisiana are completely different. The food, the culture and the festivals. But for now, up in north Louisiana I will celebrate listening to the Mardi Gras Mombo dancing with Maggie. :)
P.S. - I will not even talk about the quality of King Cakes up here. (I miss Dad's King Cakes, they were the best).

Excellent post!
That's all I could think about yesterday as well. Even though Tech was off from Mon-Wed, the rest of Ruston ignored the holiday. Not only did we work, but we had work after work. What a bummer :-(
I'd love to have seen you dancing with Maggie. Who lead? ;-)
Oh I want some Dad's king cake so bad now... It was like a donut with sugar on top.
